MJM provided civil and structural engineering for a £82 million project, 400,000 sq ft Regional Distribution Centre at Belvedere on the bank of the Thames.
The former factory site had contaminated ground, poor near-surface soils and historic underground tunnels, while levels also needed raising for flood risk. MJM designed a fully piled building and bridging structures to carry loads around the tunnels without removing them.
The team also led the highways design, working with Highways England and the Local Authority to secure approvals and connect the site to the road network.
