At approximately 180,000 sq ft this is one of the largest Asda WalMart supercentres in Europe. Opened in time for the Commonwealth Games the site is an important gateway into a deprived area of Manchester currently being regenerated by the adjacent Commonwealth Games stadium and Velodrome.
The site had a chequered history of previous industrial use and required extensive remediation and earthworks.
