The Goole Train Manufacturing Facility, delivered by Siemens, aims to put Goole at the forefront of the rail manufacturing industry. The project will deliver circa 860,000sqft of manufacturing, commissioning, warehouse buildings and stabling sidings, as well as office and welfare facilities.
MJM were appointed by GMI Construction to provide design services for Civil, Structural and Highways Engineering works from RIBA Stage 4 onwards. This included the modelling of earthworks in Autodesk Civil 3D, formation of an earthworks strategy for the site, design of foundations for three large warehouse buildings a site wide drainage design and an external works design, inclusive of a specific slab design capable of withstanding significant abnormal loading created by train delivery vehicles.
